The Habitat for Humanity of Goldsboro-Wayne has issued a progress update on the 2022 Lenoir County Build. It is the first habitat house being built in Lenoir County in a number of years. The walls are up and the tresses will be set up on the house the week of March 7, 2022. There will be a fundraiser on St. Patrick’s Day at Mother Earth Brewery.

Kinston High Sophomore Gabrielle Smith was named Miss Neuse 2022 on Saturday evening. The scholarship pageant sponsored by Hugo Fire and Rescue was held in front of a packed Kinston Lenoir County Performing Arts Center crowd. Runner-ups and other award winners are listed here.
William Lyman Edwards, Jr. 83, of Grifton, passed away on March 5, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 P.M. at Howard-Carter Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
