Kinston Police: Updated Murder Investigation (Arrest Made) - 2015

On Thursday, January 13th, 2022, Investigators with the Kinston Police Department received information related to the murder of Timothy Nobles that occurred on May 31st, 2015. Subsequently, Investigators with the Kinston Police Department were able to obtain an arrest warrant on Marquez Outlaw, 32, of Kinston for his involvement in the homicide. Outlaw was arrested on Friday January 14th, 2022, without incident and charged with murder. He was placed in the Lenoir County Detention Center under no bond.

There could be power outages and hazardous road conditions as a result of this winter weather event. Officials from LCES and the Department of Social Services are advising Lenoir County residents to prepare NOW for this event.

All 100 North Carolina Counties Sign On to $26 Billion Opioid Agreement

Attorney General Josh Stein, the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners, and the North Carolina League of Municipalities today announced a major milestone – all 100 North Carolina counties and 45 largest municipalities have signed on to the $26 billion multistate agreement with the nation’s three major pharmaceutical distributors – Cardinal, McKesson, and AmerisourceBergen – and Johnson & Johnson over the companies’ role in creating and fueling the nationwide opioid crisis.
