Thanks to eight runs in two innings, the Down East Wood Ducks fell to the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, 9-4 Thursday night. With a homerun and two RBIs, Alejandro Osuna was named the Suddenlink Player of the Game.

For the second night in-a-row, the Down East Wood Ducks won a pitchers’ duel against the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, 2-1. Down East has won their last five games, which marks the second longest winning streak for the Woodies since the first week of the season when they swept Kannapolis and won the first two games against Carolina for an eight-game winning streak.

Thanks to six strong innings by Mason Englert, the Down East Wood Ducks defeated the Carolina Mudcats, 6-2 Sunday afternoon. The Wood Ducks improve to 27-20 on the season and trail Carolina by 1.5 games for first place in the Low-A East, central division.

The Down East Wood Ducks, playing as the Avocados Luchadores de Down East fell to the Carolina Mudcats, playing as the Pescados de Carolina 7-6 on Friday night. Dustin Harris earned the Suddenlink Player of the Game, going 1-for-3 with a homerun and two RBIs.

The Down East Wood Ducks announced Tuesday, their plans to host the Second Annual ENC High School Senior Sendoff, Presented by Lenoir Community College on Saturday, July 2nd. The event is a celebration of all of the recent 2021 graduates, but will be highlighted with a doubleheader of baseball games featuring recent 2021 graduates from over 30 high schools in eastern North Carolina. Gates will open at 4 with game one starting at 4:30 and game two starting at 7:30 with a fireworks show after the completion of the doubleheader.

The Down East Wood Ducks split their doubleheader with the Carolina Mudcats, Thursday night at Grainger Stadium. The Woodies fell in game one, 2-1 but salvaged game two with a walkoff win, 4-3.

The Down East Wood Ducks bullpen struggled again as they fell to the Carolina Mudcats 8-4, Wednesday night at Grainger Stadium. This loss is the sixth time that the Woodies bullpen has surrendered the lead in a loss.
