The Wood Ducks blew a five-run lead in the bottom of the fifth and committed four defensive errors but thanks to two solo home runs in the top of the seventh powered them to their 31st win of the season.
On Wednesday, it was announced that there will be playoffs for the 2021 Minor League Baseball season. Double-A, High-A, and Low-A will all have the same playoff format for the 2021 postseason.

The Down East Wood Ducks announced Tuesday, their plans to host the Second Annual ENC High School Senior Sendoff, Presented by Lenoir Community College on Saturday, July 2nd. The event is a celebration of all of the recent 2021 graduates, but will be highlighted with a doubleheader of baseball games featuring recent 2021 graduates from over 30 high schools in eastern North Carolina. Gates will open at 4 with game one starting at 4:30 and game two starting at 7:30 with a fireworks show after the completion of the doubleheader.

Tuesday, June 8th the Kinston High School Men’s and Women’s track teams won the 2021 Conference Title. Competing against local teams like North Lenoir, Ayden-Grifton, and West Craven, Kinston High came out on top with the women at 146 and the men reaching 137.
