Douglas Gray Hill, 85, of Morehead City, peacefully returned home in the early hours of November 14, 2024. Doug will be laid to rest with his parents and siblings at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Kinston on Sunday, November 17 [Howard Carter], after which the family will receive visitors at a Celebration of Life reception from 2-4pm at the Kinston Country Club.
Linwood Earl Shivar, born on July 14, 1947, in Kinston, North Carolina, entered eternal rest on November 10, 2024, at his home in Kinston. Surrounded by his close family. A service of love and remembrance will be held at Grace Baptist Church on Hwy 58 S. in Kinston on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. with visitation following. Burial will take place at Westview Cemetery on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 11:00 a.m
Leonard Basden, 87, of Dover, NC passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Carolina East Medical Center in New Bern, NC with his wife by his bedside.
Viola Earldean "Dean" Price Carraway, known to family and friends as Dean, passed away peacefully, Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro. A graveside service will be conducted Friday, November 8, 2024, at 11am at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
Evelyn Sutton Shackelford, 92, long-time resident of Hookerton, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024. A service of remembrance will be held 11 AM Friday, November 8th, at the Hookerton Christian Church with Reverend Allen Ham officiating.
Margaret Elkins, 94, of Kinston passed away Monday, October 28, 2024. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, November 1, 2024, at 1pm at Edwards Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pinelawn Memorial Park.
Nellie Joyce Callaway, 95, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 27, 2024, surrounded by her three loving daughters. Visitation is scheduled for November 2, 2024, 10:30–11:30 a.m. at Edwards Funeral Home, 702 North Queen Street, Kinston, NC.
Ollie Pearl Dollar Bradshaw peacefully passed away after a long, fulfilling 94 years of life. A service of remembrance will be held by the graveside at Pinelawn Memorial Park on October 30, 2024, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Allen Ham officiating.
Mr. Bobby Gene Heath, Jr, age 66, passed away Sunday morning, October 27, 2024, at the ECU Inpatient Hospice Center in Greenville following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Funeral Services will be held graveside 2 PM Thursday, October 31st, at the Snow Hill Cemetery with Reverend Kelley Smart and Reverend Stephen Prescott officiating.
Steven “Steve” Lee Minnich, 72, of Kinston passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at Greendale Forest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Snow Hill. A memorial luncheon will be held at King’s Restaurant at 405 East New Bern Rd. Kinston, NC 28504 on November 23, 2024 from 12pm to 3pm.

A memorial service to celebrate Edna’s life will be held at Rouse Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2024. The family will receive friends following the service.
GRIFTON - Mrs. Ann Ham Wade, age 79, passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday, October 6, 2024, at her home surrounded by family. Funeral Services will be held 2 PM Tuesday, October 8th, at the Chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service with Pastor Bert Potter officiating. Interment will follow at the Snow Hill Cemetery.
GRANTHAM - Robert Brient Stilley, 72, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at UNC Health Rex, surrounded by his loving family. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at in the fellowship hall of Pleasant Union Christian Church. A service to celebrate Brient's life will follow the visitation at 3:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Peasant Union Christian Church with Rev. Frank Purvis officiating. Military honors will conclude the service. Services are entrusted to Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
