Dewey “Lynn” Pelletier passed away peacefully surrounded by family and his trusted canine companion “Little Bit” on Saturday, September 9, 2023. On Saturday, September 30, honoring his wishes, we will gather for his farewell dance and celebration of life from 6:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. at New South. A memorial service for family and close friends will be held at 2:00 p.m.
Donna “Diane” Wilcox Ousnamer, 71, of Kinston passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at ECU Health. The family will be accepting friends from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Diane’s home located at 2726 St. John Circle followed by A Celebration of Life service that will be held at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Garner Funeral Home. Visitation will be held following the Celebration of Life.
Georgia Murphy Mercer passed away Monday, September 18, 2023. A graveside service will be conducted Friday, September 22, 2023, at 2pm at Westview Cemetery.
Mrs. Lewellyn Davis Bradshaw, best known as “Lew”, passed away Monday evening at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro. Funeral services will be held graveside 11 AM Thursday, September 21st, at the Westview Cemetery with Reverend Glenn Hill officiating. The family will greet friends and extended relatives immediately following the service at the cemetery and other times at Mrs. Bradshaw’s residence.
Judy Jernigan Fields passed away peacefully at home on Monday, September 18, 2023. A Service of Love and Remembrance will be held in the chapel of Rouse Funeral Home on Friday, September 22, 2023 at 3:00 pm. Visitation will take place an hour prior to the service, 2:00 pm. Following the service, the family will receive friends at Judy’s home.
Raeford “Tad Pole” Jones, 78, went to be with the Lord and Saviour on Sunday, September 17, 2023, surrounded by family at his home. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Pleasant Hill Christian Church, Pink Hill, NC with funeral service at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Griffin Family Cemetery.
Mary Hester Stanley, 88, of Kinston passed away on September 13, 2023 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Visitation will be Sunday, September 17, 2023 beginning at 2:00 pm, with funeral services following at 3:00 pm at Howard-Carter Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Deaver Family Cemetery, Deep Run, NC.
Joseph John Forkl, III, 73 of Kinston passed away Thursday, August 24, 2023, at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville. A Memorial Service will be conducted Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at 1pm at Faith Lutheran Church, 709 W. Vernon Ave., Kinston, NC.
Dempsey Craig Hill died peacefully on September 9, 2023, at Kitty Askins in Goldsboro. A memorial service celebrating Dempsey’s life will be held at Kinston First Baptist on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at 3:00 pm.
Peggy Ann Price, 79, of Deep Run, NC passed away on September 12, 2023, at her home. The funeral services and visitation will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Woodington Ward on September 15, 2023.
Willie “Leo” Pate, 91, of Kinston passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at Harmony Hall. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon Monday, September 18, 2023 at Garner Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow the visitation with Dr. Tim Daniel officiating. Burial will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
Mavis Elaine Avery Taylor, 88, of Kinston, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2023 at Kitty Askins Hospice, Goldsboro, NC. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 15, 2023 at Westview Cemetery.
Mr. Tony Allen Hill, age 45, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 8th, 2023. A service to remember and celebrate Tony’s life will be held 3 PM Tuesday, September 12th, at Pinelawn Memorial Park with Pastor Hank Jarman officiating. The family will greet friends and extended relatives at the cemetery immediately following the service and other times at the home of his mother, “Bunny” Hill.

Betty Jane Jackson, 87, passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville. A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 2, 2023, at 11AM at Maplewood Cemetery, 419 Lincoln Street, Kinston. The family will receive friends at the family home after the service.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, August 27th at 2:00 pm at Sharon United Methodist Church, 4106 Sharon Church Road, Kinston, NC. A private burial will be held on his 84th birthday, Monday, August 28th at 11:00 am at Pinelawn Cemetery.
Daniel Hill passed away peacefully at Spring Arbor Senior Living, in Kinston, on Saturday evening, August 19th, 2023. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home in Kinston, with Pastor Allen Ham officiating. Visitation will follow the service.
Stella Smith Willoughby, 94, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, August 15, 2023. A visitation will be Friday, August 18th at 1 pm followed by a homegoing service at 2 pm at the Capital Church in Garner. A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, August 19th at 11am in Pinewood Memorial Park, Greenville. She will be available for viewing at Edwards Funeral Home on Thursday from 2 to 4 pm.
