Committal services will follow at 11 AM Wednesday, January 18th, at Snow Hill Cemetery.
Retha “Rita” Locklear Bryant, 84 of Kinston, passed away Friday, January 6, 2023. The family will receive friends at the home of Gloria and Tim Hill, 2179 Summerhill Terrace, Kinston, NC. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Pinelawn Memorial Park with Pastor Alan Stocks officiating.
Bonita Joy (Stroud) Bourdas, age 68, of Kinston, NC, was promoted to Glory on Monday, January 2nd, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. Visitation: Friday Evening, January 6th, from 6-8:00 P.M. at Howard Carter Funeral Home, located at 1608 W. Vernon Avenue in Kinston. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday Morning, January 7th at Pinelawn Memorial Park at 11:00 A.M.
William (Bill) Smith, 88, of Kinston passed away December 30, 2022, after battling respiratory issues for many years. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, January 7, 2023, at First Presbyterian Church, 2101 N. Herritage Street, Kinston, NC 28501.
James Oliver Watson, 90, passed away with his family by his side on December 19, 2022. A service of love and remembrance will be held by the graveside at Fairview Cemetery at on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at 11 a.m. . The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Shade Aldridge, 93, passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 9, 2022. A celebration of his life will be held at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church Tuesday, December 13th at 4:00 PM. The family will receive friends following the service at a reception in Mosley Hall.
Timothy Ray Pike “Timmy” passed away very unexpectedly on Friday, December 9, 2022. Visitation will be from 11-1 with services immediately following on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at Jones County Civic Center in Trenton, and entombment will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Pink Hill.
Charles Thomas McDonald, 65, of Kinston passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Funeral service will be held 6:00 p.m. Monday, December 5, 2022, at Garner Funeral Home with Rev. Don Causley officiating. Visitation will follow the service and at other times at the home of the son, Kenneth McDonald.
La Grange-Tom Foster, 78, departed this earthly life on Sunday morning, November 27, 2022. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home.
Tommy Ipock passed away peacefully, Thursday, November 17, 2022, surrounded by his wife and children at the North Carolina Veteran’s Home in Kinston. A celebration of life service will be held at a later time.

Having lived a long and fruitful life, George Allen Byrd, Jr. passed away on October 28, 2022, at the age of 103.
