Funeral service will begin at 7:00 p.m., with Danny Oliver officiating. Graveside Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 3, 2019, at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
La Grange – Raymond “Ray” Amyette, 64, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 after a brief illness. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 5th at 4 pm in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Adam Thomas Hobbs, 22, of Kinston NC died from suicide on Saturday, April 13, 2019. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Fairfield Park Gym in Kinston, NC.
Timothy “Tim” Lee Cole, 71, conquered life on April 17, 2019. A service to remember and celebrate Tim’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 22, 2019, at Rouse Funeral Home. A time of visitation and fellowship will follow the memorial service. A private family inurnment will be held at Eastern Carolina State Veteran’s Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, April 8, 2019, at Howard-Carter Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at Howard-Carter Funeral Home with Pastor Allen Stocks officiating. Graveside service will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
Reid Whitford White, Jr., 72, of Kinston, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at home. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Howard-Carter Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 26, 2019. Entombment will be held at a later date.
Marie Faircloth Shelton, “Gee” to her grandchildren, 93, passed away Tuesday evening at Kitty Askins Hospice in Goldsboro after a period of declining health. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 22, 2019 at Queen Street United Methodist Church with Reverend Karl Grant and Reverend Bill Gattis. Interment will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and family at the home of her son Woody and wife Sue, 4873 Bryan Hardy Rd, La Grange, NC after 6:00 p.m. Thursday evening.

Morris W. “Pete” Pully, 96, died Thursday, January 10, 2019. The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2 pm at Gordon Street Christian Church with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in La Grange.
Forries Lincoln Dawson, 89, of Kinston, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2019. Forries was born February 12, 1929 in Lenoir County to the late Edwin Dawson and Ollie Benton Dawson. A time of visitation and fellowship will be held Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 12-1 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home with a memorial service to follow at 1 p.m.
Rev. Daniel Brian Cromer, loving husband, father, brother and pastor, was welcomed home into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, January 5, 2019. Dan was born on January 13, 1952 in Louisville, Kentucky to William R. and Lois S. Cromer, who preceded him to heaven. A service to celebrate Dan’s life will take place at Spilman Memorial Baptist Church, 601 W. Madison Street, Kinston, North Carolina, on Friday, January 11, 2019, at 2 p.m. Family will greet visitors in the church fellowship hall following the worship service.
This is the story of Charles Wesley Smith, Sr, which begins in the year 1912. No, Charles was not yet in this world, but without the union of his parents, Quincy Adams Smith and Mamie Irene Croom Smith, this story would never exist. They married at the home where Charles was born and raised, along with his fifteen siblings. When there are sixteen children to care for, everyone was responsible for the other. This responsibility created the foundation of his steadfast love for his entire family.
Frederick I. Sutton, III passed away on December 29, 2018. A graveside service will be held on Monday at 11am in Maplewood Cemetery. He was the son of Frederick I. and Helen M. Sutton, Jr., and brother of Frank M. Sutton, all of Kinston, NC.
