Greene County Schools Honors County Teacher of the Year

Snow Hill, NC— On April 14, 2025, Greene County Schools is proud to recognize Heather Davis from Greene Early College, one of its most dedicated and passionate educators, as this year’s Greene County Schools Teacher of the Year. Dr. Rodney McNeil, Executive Director of Human Capital and incoming Superintendent, along with Dr. Taylor Moore, Principal of Greene Early College, had the privilege of announcing this year's winner with a visit to her classroom.

Lenoir County man arrested for DWI, assault, following series of hit-and-run crashes

On April 10, 2025, officers from the Kinston Police Department’s B-Squad were flagged down by a victim of a hit-and-run incident near the intersection of E. Vernon Avenue and Highway 11. The victim reported that their vehicle had been struck by another vehicle, which then fled the scene. The victim was able to provide officers with a description of the suspect vehicle.

Neuse Regional Library Receives Statewide Recognition at NCPLDA Conference

Neuse Regional Libraries are excited to announce that they were recently recognized with two 2024 North Carolina Public Library Directors Association (NCPLDA) Awards. At the April 3 ceremony, Director Melanie Morgan and Neuse Regional Libraries staff were recognized for a Literacy Award for digital literacy outreach at the Friends of the Homeless Shelter and  Facility Recognition for the Kinston-Lenoir County Public Library’s new Multi-Sensory Environment.
