PINK HILL, N.C. – What began as a simple Easter egg hunt nine years ago has blossomed into a full-scale festival that draws thousands of attendees each year. The Pink Hill Eggstravaganza Festival, set for its ninth annual celebration, remains a completely free event for the community, offering entertainment, family-friendly activities, and a showcase of local businesses.

Kinston Community Health Center’s mobile health clinic has been providing essential healthcare on the last Thursday of each month, since the summer of 2024. A provider sees patients from 10 AM to 4 PM at various locations. Available services include family health, maternal health, and more. KCHC’s mission is to provide accessible, high-quality healthcare to underserved areas, ensuring that all residents have the medical support they need.

On March 9, 2025, at approximately 4:36 p.m., officers from the Kinston Police Department’s D-Squad responded to a motor vehicle crash in the parking lot of the Piggly Wiggly on North Herritage Street. Before officers arrived, they were informed that one of the drivers had left the scene.
On March 8, 2025, at approximately 1:10 a.m., officers from the Kinston Police Department’s B-Squad conducted a traffic stop on Highway 258 South after a vehicle nearly struck an officer’s patrol car.
On March 7, 2025, at approximately 12:57 a.m., officers from the Kinston Police Department’s B-Squad conducted a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle. The vehicle had been reported stolen to KPD on July 17, 2024.
A proactive enforcement operation in Lenoir County that included the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office SCARR (Street Crimes and Ready Response) unit, along with the LCSO’s Narcotics and General Investigations Division (GID), resulted in the arrest of two people on Thursday.
