On January 7, 2025, prior to 3:00 pm, officers from the Kinston Police Department were dispatched to a residence on the 600 block of Terminal Street in reference to a disturbance. As a result of the investigation, a suspect was arrested.

KPD detectives are currently attempting to identify the subject in the photos. It was reported the broke into Gethsemane Seventh Day Adventist Church on January 1, 2025, and stole several items.

On January 6, 2024, Kinston Police Department’s D-Squad officers received information regarding a stolen motor vehicle from Pitt County. Officers quickly located the vehicle on the 400 block of E King Street and initiated a traffic stop.

Norman Bryson named new Lenoir County Emergency Services Director
Norman Bryson has been appointed as the new Emergency Services Director for Lenoir County, according to County Manager Michael James. Bryson, who brings over three decades of experience in emergency management and fire services, will officially begin his tenure on Jan. 6.
Lenoir County woman arrested for methamphetamine possession
On January 4, 2025, at approximately 7:02 PM, A-Squad officers initiated a traffic stop on Highway 70 due to fictitious registration. During the stop, officers conducted a K9 search of the vehicle, and KPD K9, Knox, alerted to the presence of narcotics inside.

Snow Hill Police seek help identifying suspect in Family Dollar theft
On January 2, 2025, Snow Hill Police Department responded to 420 Kingold Blvd (Family Dollar) in reference to a larceny that had just occurred. Once on scene, officers learned that the female in the photo below walked out the of store with an undisclosed amount of items
KPD seeks help identifying suspect in stolen lottery ticket case
KPD is attempting to identify the subject in the photos. It was reported he cashed multiple stolen lottery tickets in December, 2024.

Trillium Welcomes New Governing Board
On July 7, 2024, changes to North Carolina law necessitated adjustments to Trillium’s Governing Board. On July 19, 2024, in compliance with the new law, Trillium submitted a new proposed alternate board structure to NCDHHS Secretary Kody Kinsley for approval.
SCARR unit arrests four in Lenoir County during December enforcement
Throughout the last two weeks of December, the Lenoir County Street Crimes and Ready Response (SCARR) unit performed proactive enforcement throughout the county, which led to four arrests.
New Year's traffic incidents lead to multiple impaired driving arrests and vehicle pursuit
Kinston Police Officers made several arrests over the New Year’s, with a focus on impaired driving and a vehicle pursuit.
Wheelchair ramps stolen from church
The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office requests the community’s assistance with identifying a person and vehicle associated with a larceny at Rivermont Baptist Church, 2478 US-258, Kinston. On Dec. 28, at approximately 10:30 am, an unidentified person drove onto the church property and stole two wheelchair access ramps (one aluminum ramp and one wooden ramp).
