It is the time of year, when the days of Autumn have descended. Leaves are beginning to change colors and are scattered upon the ground. The anticipation of cooler weather is a welcome change. It such a time like this that I have learned to appreciate.

Brandon Johnson, a 28-year-old resident of Snow Hill, is running for re-election to the Greene County Board of Education. A lifelong resident of Greene County, Johnson has served on the board since 2020, when he was elected as the youngest official in the county’s history.
As we mourn the deaths and grapple with the destruction inflicted on our state by Hurricane Helene, I submit that the storm has brought out much that is good about North Carolina — and much that is vile about social media.
