KPD's A-Squad responded to a motor vehicle crash with injury at W Vernon Avenue and Hardee Road. The investigation revealed Deborah Smith (33 of Goldsboro) was impaired. Smith was arrested and placed in the LC Jail.

The Kinston Police Department will hold a free camp this summer for youth between 11 and 17 who are Kinston or Lenoir County residents. Camp Inspire will be held June 26th through June 28th from 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM.
The NC 911 Board recently audited the Jones-Lenoir Emergency Communications Center and found zero deficiencies, affirming the center’s adherence to state Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) standards. Congratulations to E911 Division Chief Futrell and her team for this outstanding achievement!
