Numbers big and small figure into South Lenoir senior's college decision

For Dakota Tyndall, it was a good problem to have: colleges lined up to welcome her in the fall and her two favorites – the University of North Carolina and Campbell University – both solid choices for an aspiring pharmacist. How the South Lenoir High School senior sorted out those opportunities says something about the considerations top students have when they become the choosers.

RADD's June 1 Event: Baseball, motorcycle ride, and surprises

On Saturday, June 1, Grainger Stadium will host the Challenger Baseball game, starting at 11:00 a.m. The event, organized by RADD, is free and open to the public, encouraging community support for special athletes. Players from the DownEast Wood Ducks will participate alongside RADD players, making it a memorable day of inclusive fun and community spirit. Attendees can also look forward to a few surprises that will add to the excitement of the day.

I have come across people who absolutely love them, and those that shudder at the thought. The hydrangea is a gorgeous, cloud-like bloom, that in my opinion is quintessentially the definition of a southern home landscape. Probably most known for their changing colors to match soil pH, they are a great cut flower, and can do well in a variety of conditions. They are a great addition to any home if you follow a few basic guidelines. 

Kinston Police Cleared in Use of Force

On Friday, May 10, 2024, at approximately 9:12 pm, officers with the Kinston Police Department observed a group of individuals with known gang ties loitering in the parking lot on property owned by Kinston Housing Authority. The individuals were getting in and out of a vehicle in which officers had previously observed a firearm.
