The Lenoir County Board of Elections has announced an immediate change in the voting location for the Kinston 4 voting precinct. The previous location at Tanglewood Church of God is being replaced by the Kinston Church of Christ, located at 1901 Sunset Ave, Kinston, NC 28504. Voters will cast their ballots in the fellowship hall of the new venue.
Veteran’s United has made it possible for every single student at Jones Senior High School (JSHS) to take home two books for free. There are 522 students that attend JSHS. The value of this donation of 1,044 books could range from $6,000-$20,000.

The Lenoir County Board of Education convened a special meeting on January 16, 2024, primarily to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of board member Keith King on December 5, 2023.
At a meeting on Wednesday, the remaining Downtown Kinston Revitalization board members met for a special meeting in response to the abrupt resignation of six board members. Per DKR’s bylaws, the board chair, Mike Chastain, has the ability to nominate replacements in order for the board to reach the minimum requirement of 11.
