Let me add to the list of vicious dog horror stories that exist in my community and all across this city. To start with, I want to make it clear that I do not consider all dogs that are mentioned in this article vicious.

Talisa is the founder of Adelphe Christian Sorority, Inc., which has collaborated with Greene County Schools to provide free Wi-Fi hotspots to underprivileged students. They have also donated food, clothing, and games to Kinston's homeless shelter.
Students become state leaders at Youth Legislative Assembly
Thirteen students from Lenoir County Early College High School took on the role of state leaders this past weekend when they joined approximately 200 other North Carolina students in the NC Youth Legislative Assembly (YLA) in Raleigh.
KPD: Woman charged with Felony Assault on Law Enforcement Officer
On Wednesday, March 22nd, 2023, members of the Kinston Police Department, SWAT Team, and the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office, Special Response Team executed a search warrant at a residence near the 700 block of W. Lenoir Ave. Kinston, N.C. The warrant was a direct result of ongoing cases being investigated regarding the recent theft of a motor vehicle and homicide.

Greene County Sheriff's Office: Vehicle chase ends in arrest
On Thursday, March 16th, 2023 around 11:40 pm Greene County Deputies attempted to stop a vehicle for a stop sign violation at Hwy 903 S and Hull Rd, which lead to a vehicle chase in the Arba area. After chasing the vehicle into Lenoir County, then back into Greene County, the driver, who was later identified as 41 year old Kevin Johnson from the Arba area, abandoned the vehicle near his home and fled into the woods.
Adults recovering from addiction or incarceration to benefit from SECU Foundation Grant
SECU Foundation is pleased to announce a $40,000 grant for the Lenoir County non-profit Hope Restorations. The funding will support the expansion of its program model for adults recovering from addiction and/or incarceration through intervention programs and job skills training in home restoration and renovation.
