A suicidal man who barricaded himself inside a home near Woodington Middle School was safely removed by Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office deputies Thursday night. After more than two hours of negotiations, Special Response Team members entered the residence and found the man barricaded in a bathroom. He was safely removed without injury and transported to a hospital for evaluation. Sheriff Jackie Rogers praised his team for their professionalism in handling the situation.

A Lenoir County man is behind bars following a traffic stop that led to multiple charges, including possession of drugs.
Officers conducted a traffic stop on Adkin Street and observed an extended firearm magazine protruding from underneath the driver’s seat. Upon further investigation, officers located a concealed firearm inside the vehicle. A 17-year-old female passenger admitted ownership of the firearm.

Surveillance footage captured a black male wearing a black hoodie with “OUT OF YOUR LEAGUE” written on the back forcibly kicking through the door to gain entry, while a black female remained outside.
