On February 21, 2025, KPD’s B-Squad officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1600 block of W Vernon Avenue. During the stop, officers made contact with the occupants when the passenger, Omarion Lewis (22, Trenton, NC), began reaching around the vehicle before throwing a handgun onto the dashboard.
On February 21, 2025, at 02:25 AM., Kinston Police Department officers responded to a breaking and entering at the 2 o'clock store located at 700 Dr MLK JR Boulevard. Surveillance footage captured video footage of the suspect. We are currently attempting to identify the subject in the photos.

A Lenoir County man is behind bars following a traffic stop that led to multiple charges, including possession of drugs.
Officers conducted a traffic stop on Adkin Street and observed an extended firearm magazine protruding from underneath the driver’s seat. Upon further investigation, officers located a concealed firearm inside the vehicle. A 17-year-old female passenger admitted ownership of the firearm.

Surveillance footage captured a black male wearing a black hoodie with “OUT OF YOUR LEAGUE” written on the back forcibly kicking through the door to gain entry, while a black female remained outside.
