With the help of the community and an investigation both subjects have been identified.
According to the Snow Hill Police Department’s Facebook Page, the department is seeking information in identifying an individual who is a person of interest in a breaking and entering investigation. Anyone with information should contact the department at 252-560-9022 or send them a message. According to the statement “Any and all tips regarding the identity of this person will remain anonymous.”
The Kinston Police Department is asking for the publics assistance regarding a larceny. on January 19, 2023, two unknown white females received goods and services from a local nail salon. Both left the establishment without paying. They were seen leaving in a black BMW.
On Monday, January 23rd, 2023, at approximately 12:40 pm members of the Kinston Police Department were called to the report of shots fired in the vicinity of Mitchell Wooten Apartments.
Three men — Howie Quentin Jones, Eric Ashley Newcome and Timothy Michael Jones — have been jailed following search warrants being executed at a house on N.C. 58 South in Lenoir County.
On 01/09/2023, the Greene County Sheriff's Office arrested 34 year old William Ray Jones of Kinston. After a months long investigation Jones was charged with First Degree Statutory Rape, Statutory Rape of a Minor less than 15 years old, Sexual Act by Substitute Parent/Custodian, and Indecent Liberties with a Minor. Jones is currently being held in the Greene County Detention Center under a $650,000 secured bond.
Two men were arrested following the report of a Sunday morning robbery, a foot chase through a neighborhood and a shot fired by one of the suspects during the chase.
The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office has arrested and charged a man with concealment of death after discovering a dead woman in a Deanswood Drive residence.
In reference to the media release sent on 12/25/22 regarding the suspicious death on Riley Rd. The autopsy was completed on 01/04/23 and after conferring with the Medical Examiners’ Office it has been determined that the cause of death will be ruled as accidental. The injuries sustained by Kenneth Jackson, 59, of Kinston were consistent with a fall and no foul play was detected. At this time, there is no concern for public safety and this case has been closed.

On Sunday, December 25th, 2022, at approximately 4:15 p.m. Kinston Police Officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of Riley Rd. Kinston, N.C. in reference to an unattended death. Officers arrived on scene and located a 59 year old Kinston resident that was deceased. At this time the cause of death is unknown and it is being investigated as a suspicious death.
On Wednesday, December 21st, 2022, members of the Kinston Police Department Violent Criminal Action Team concluded an investigation into the illegal narcotics distribution by Raheem Freeland, 27, of Kinston.
