On Monday, February 28th, 2022, members of the Kinston Police Department filed a Juvenile Petition on a 17 year old Kinston resident for the involvement in the murder of Michael Mills and shooting of two others on January 26th, 2022

On Tuesday, March 1, 2022, members of the Kinston Police Department along with the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force arrested Marquis Jaquan Bizzell, 28, of Kinston N.C. for 1st Degree Murder for his involvement in the 2015 murder of Timothy Nobles. Bizzell has been jailed without bond.
Several agencies — including the Kinston Fire Department, Kinston Police Department, Lenoir County Emergency Services, North Lenoir Volunteer Fire Department and Southwood Fire Department — have been looking for a potential drowning victim in Kinston this afternoon. An eyewitness on the bank of the Neuse River behind the Family Dollar, 400 E. New Bern Road, Kinston, told officials he saw a woman along the bank of the river reach into the water to grab a bag. After watching her do that, he didn’t see her re-emerge from the river and, after going into the store, called officials to report what he’d seen.
On Thursday, February 24th, members of the Kinston Police Department arrested Norris Donnell Bell, 44 years old, for one count of Armed Robbery that occurred at the Dollar General on February 22nd, 2022.
On February 22, 2022, at approximately 08:48 pm, Officers with the Kinston Police Department responded to a robbery at the Dollar General. The suspect passed a note to the cashier and displayed a weapon. The suspect left on foot in an unknown direction of travel.
LA GRANGE — A La Grange man is dead following a shooting at a convenience store on Tuesday night.
On Monday, Feb. 22, at approximately 9 p.m., Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) deputies responded to the Stop N Go convenience store, 109 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, in La Grange for reports of a shooting. Deputies arrived and found one male subject deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.
On May 31, 2015 at 12:24 pm, Timothy Nobles was shot multiple times while operating his motor vehicle on the 400 Block of Cox Avenue at Heritage Street.
On Tuesday, November 5, 2013, just prior to 1:30 pm, James Franklin and two people were parked in a vehicle on the 200 block of E. Capitola Avenue. Witnesses stated that they saw two unknown subjects standing in the backyard of a residence on N. McLewean Street, shooting toward the vehicle. All three people in the vehicle were shot.
On the night of January 10th & 11th 2022, numerous vehicle break ins were reported to the Lenoir, Wayne and Greene County Sheriff's Offices. Deputies and Detectives from all three counties worked together through the numerous reports, conducted interviews and identified the suspects in these cases.
On February 17, 2022, at 6:46pm Kinston Police officers were called to a motor vehicle accident on South Queen Street near Shine Street.
The Kinston Police Department Criminal Investigations Division released a WANTED post on their Facebook page. Robert Moss Jr., is a 39-year-old white male, height is 6’0", and he weighs 226 lbs. He has brown hair and blue eyes. He is wanted for Larceny.
On February 11, 2022, William Jeremiah Howell turned himself into authorities at the Greene County Sheriff's Office.
The Lenoir County Sheriff's Narcotics Investigations Division was given a mission many years ago by Sheriff Ronnie Ingram to not only arrest dealers and users, but to identify the bigger suppliers and bring them to justice in the federal system with the large amounts of drugs they were moving.
The Unicoi County Sheriff’s Office arrested former Lenoir County resident Tyler Lee Owens, 29, on Monday. He was charged with second-degree murder, tampering with evidence, abuse of a corpse, evading arrest, among other charges. The victim’s name has not been released at this time. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is helping the sheriff’s office with the investigation.
Lenoir County Sheriff's Office Detectives have secured a warrant for the arrest of William Jemeriah Howell for Involuntary Manslaughter.
The Lenoir County Sheriff's Office has charged Allen Ray Hardison III with two crimes related to bomb threats that were called into two local schools. Hardison was arrested by Greenville Police Department on January 28, 2022 after a chase in Greenville.
