Mike Parker: Redistricting: We need to find a better way
Redistricting maps for state legislative and U.S. House members also create a host of lawsuits. As of March 31, opponents have filed 67 cases challenging districts drawn from the 2020 census. These lawsuits claim either racial or political gerrymandering. This year is not the first time lawsuits have challenged new maps. This year will certainly not be the last.

Although the definition and priorities of American conservatism have been the subject of much debate among the chattering classes in recent years, most actual American conservatives will readily tell you what unifies their sometimes-raucous ranks: freedom.

But one particular printed news release caught my attention. That release announced that West Pharmaceutical Services will invest more than $70 million to expand its Kinston facility. I recalled that Amazon is also coming to Kinston and that Master Brand Cabinets also committed to expanding its facility and workforce in our area.

In any event, our life here is very brief and we are constantly aware of how fast time flies.
