The strawberries are finally here, the first real tasty sign of spring, and aren’t we ready?? The juicy red berries hold the title of the most popular berry in the world. They are also quite versatile; you can enjoy them straight out of the patch, or in strawberry shortcake, strawberry pie, strawberry jam, and so much more.
The long-awaited strawberry season has arrived, and with it comes the official opening of the Lenoir County Farmers Market on Saturday, April 12. Located at 100 N. Herritage Street in downtown Kinston, the market will be open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
We have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of the fresh juicy local strawberries and they are finally here!! Strawberries are a super fruit; they are packed with antioxidants and essential nutrients that can reduce inflammation.
