Officers responded to the area after receiving reports that a 17 y/o juvenile had been shot. Officers provided medical care and investigators arrived to process the scene and collect evidence.

DWI arrests made at KPD checking station
In the early morning hours of June 1, 2025, KPD’s B-Squad was conducting a checking station on King Street when two individuals were arrested for Driving While Impaired.
Traffic stop leads to drug arrests
On May 30, 2025, at 11:05 a.m., officers from KPD’s D-Squad conducted a traffic stop on Highway 70 West. The driver, Michael Bridgers Jr., 26, of Macclesfield, NC, was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and marijuana after K9 Kilo assisted in a vehicle search.
