Governor Stein announces Judco Manufacturing Relocating Headquarters to Greene County

Preston Hunter announces retirement after 33 years of state service
After 33.5 years of dedicated service to the State of North Carolina, Preston Hunter, Executive Director of the North Carolina Global TransPark (NCGTP), will retire at the end of this year. Preston has served in various roles within the Department of Transportation while in state government.

In major investment, officials break ground for military aircraft maintenance facility at N.C. Global TransPark
State, federal and local officials broke ground Tuesday on a North Carolina Global TransPark complex that the U.S. Navy will use to maintain and repair Navy and Marine Corps aircraft.
Officials said the U.S. Navy’s Fleet Readiness Center East, C-130 Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul complex will create more than 400 new jobs and generate $400 million in new investment for the region. The facility will expand the existing Fleet Readiness Center East, which is at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point in Havelock and is the state’s largest employer east of Interstate 95.

Expansion project to create additional 70 jobs in Greene County
The NC Rural Infrastructure Authority announced today that H&T Trucking, Inc., a company that primarily transports bulk feed and live animals, will receive a grant from the state’s Building Reuse Program. Earlier today, the NC Rural Infrastructure Authority approved Greene County’s request for $175,000 in funds to support the building reuse of H&T Trucking, Inc.

On Tuesday morning, the North Carolina Global TransPark Economic Development Region held a ribbon cutting ceremony for Building Envelope Erection Services (BEES) at 1441 Nahunta Road in Snow Hill. “This is a great addition to the county,” said Senator Don Davis. “This is where we need to be right now as we are still coming out of difficult times. This is about growing the economy, and growing the county.”
