We are so very happy to offer FRESH BUCKS at our market. Fresh Bucks are funded by a grant awarded to us by RAFI(Rural Advancement Foundation International) , which enables the market to give free tokens to match an EBT purchase up to $20.00. In other words, spend up to $20.00 from an EBT card and receive up to $20 in free tokens, for a total of $40.00 for one to spend on fresh fruits and vegetables.
To say the least, 2020 has been an unusual year. Despite all the new entrances and exits, rules and guidelines, our market has managed to survive for our farmers and craftsmen without catastrophe
The market will be open this Saturday, next Tuesday, December 22nd and the Tuesday before New Year's Eve, December 29th, from 8 until 2 o' clock. After that, it will be closed until strawberry season which will be sometime in April, 2021.
Lenoir County Master Gardener Home Grown Plant sale will be held Saturday the 10th from 10am-2pm
The Neuse Regional Library will be at the Lenoir County Farmers Market on Saturday, September 12 from 9:00a.m. to 11:00a.m., to share online genealogical resources Heritage Quest and Ancestry.com. There will also be an opportunity to sign up for library cards and check out items from a selection of popular materials.
We are so very sad to have heard of the passing of our long time vendor, Bridgette Patrovsky, affectionately known as The Soap Nerd. Bridgette was a ray of sunshine to us and to her many customers. She always wore a big smile to top her bubbly personality.

The Kinston-Lenoir County Public Library invites families to register for our annual Summer Reading Program. They will be at the Farmers Market on Saturday, July 11 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. They will handing out craft bags for children and providing information about the Library and its programs and resources!

TC Smith will return with strawberries, asparagus, sweet potatoes, red skin potatoes, plus they will bring in cucumbers, zucchini, squash, string beans, onions and tomatoes from Florida. Don't forget to pick some free-range eggs, honey, pork skins or peanuts and Soap Nerds' unscented hand sanitizer. Bridgette can tell you all about it.
Celebrating Farmers Markets throughout the United States of America for the role they play in our nation's food system, the role they play in fostering entrepreneurship, in stimulating local economies, in preserving farmland, in increasing access to nutritious food and in supporting healthy communities. Please come down to our market this week to thank our local farmers for all they do to provide us with fresh, local produce.
If you are a BLT lover, as so many of us are, come down to buy some of the last heirloom tomatoes of the season.
We have Heirloom tomatoes, both German Johnson and Cherokee Purple, sweet corn, white, yellow and bi-colored - shucked and unshucked. Cantaloupes honey hew melons.
