Kellan Bryant, principal at KHS since 2017, was honored by the association at its annual state convention in Winston-Salem last week. The Administrator of the Year Award is the highest honor the group bestows on state, district or school-level administrators, working in either public or private systems.
Tuesday, June 8th the Kinston High School Men’s and Women’s track teams won the 2021 Conference Title. Competing against local teams like North Lenoir, Ayden-Grifton, and West Craven, Kinston High came out on top with the women at 146 and the men reaching 137.
The City of Kinston received a request from Halcon Companies to utilize a Conditional Use Permit for multi-family apartment units on an 8.61 acre tract on a lot just off North Queen Street, adjacent to Kinston High School. Leadership at Kinston High School, where the properties would be next to, weren’t receptive to the apartment complex moving so close.
