On Sunday, November 11, 2024, at approximately 12:47 p.m., officers from the Kinston Police Department responded to a reported shooting on the 700 block of East Lenoir Avenue. Upon arrival, law enforcement located a 15-year-old male victim who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his extremities.
Two juveniles have been identified and will be soon taken into custody for breaking and entering and committing larceny at a La Grange business last week.

The vehicle had previously been reported stolen to Green County Sheriff's Office. Officers located the vehicle on the 1500 block of Dr. MLK Jr Blvd and made contact with the driver, (17 year old juvenile from Kinston) and took him into custody. With the assistance of Green County Sheriff's Office, the juvenile was transported to Green County and released to a parent.

Officers on B-Squad were searching the area of Orion Street and Chestnut Street for a 16 year old juvenile that had been reporting missing. Officers located the juvenile and served an outstanding secure custody order. The juvenile was also in possession of a concealed firearm at the time he was located. The juvenile was transported to the Juvenile Detention Center for the secure custody order and officers will follow up with Juvenile Justice for additional charges for Carrying Concealed Gun & Possession of a Handgun by a Minor.
