Apr 16 Global TransPark, Navy sign 10-year deal expected to bring 400 jobs to Kinston area

(RALEIGH) Today Governor Stein announced that the N.C. Global TransPark, a 2,500-acre multimodal industrial park in Kinston, and the U.S. Navy have signed a 10-year agreement that will bring more than 400 jobs to eastern North Carolina. The N.C. Global TransPark will support maintenance and aircraft overhaul for the U.S. Navy’s Fleet Readiness Center East (FRCE), which provides fleet support to all branches of the U.S. Department of War.

Oct 16 Electrolux to Invest $23 Million in Kinston Expansion, Adding 74 New Jobs in Lenoir County

(RALEIGH) Today Governor Josh Stein announced household appliance company Electrolux Consumer Products, Inc., will add 74 new jobs in Lenoir County. The company will invest more than $23.7 million to expand its Kinston dishwasher production facility and Manufacturing Center of Excellence for dish production in North America.

Governor Stein declared a state of emergency as emergency officials prepare for winter weather to impact the majority of the state. In a briefing this morning, Governor Stein, Director of Emergency Management Will Ray, and Secretary of Transportation Secretary Joey Hopkins provided an update on the winter weather that will impact much of the state starting Wednesday and into Thursday.
