Samuel Kornegay, a seasoned emergency services professional, has been appointed Deputy Fire Chief of the Kinston Department of Fire and Rescue. Kornegay, who previously served as Deputy Director of Lenoir County Emergency Services, brings years of experience and leadership to his new role.
Kinston Fire & Rescue has been awarded a $25,000 grant from the Duke Energy Foundation to enhance its disaster preparedness capabilities. The funding will be used to purchase equipment for the department’s water rescue team, improving its readiness and response during tropical weather and other emergencies.
Chad Jackson, a long-serving member of the Kinston Department of Fire and Rescue, has been named the new Fire Chief for the City of Kinston. Jackson, who began his career with the department in 2003, brings over two decades of experience to his new role.
