NCDOT to host small contractor outreach event in Kinston

Small businesses can meet NCDOT representatives and learn about highway contracting opportunities during a Sept. 26 event in Kinston.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation will hold an outreach event in Kinston for small contractors interested in working with the agency.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 26, at 2815 Rouse Road Extension in Kinston.

NCDOT representatives will meet with contractors and provide information about available contracting opportunities, agency expectations and ways businesses can work with the department.

The outreach is intended for firms interested in services such as mowing, tree cutting, landscape planting, snow and ice removal, equipment rental, emergency work, roadside litter collection, traffic control, pavement striping, paving, construction and maintenance.

Small-business owners and contractors from Lenoir County and surrounding areas may attend to learn more about the types of work available through NCDOT and the process of pursuing transportation contracts.

The Kinston meeting is one of several small-contractor outreach events NCDOT is holding across the state in September. Similar meetings are scheduled in other highway divisions.

For additional information, contractors may visit the NCDOT Division of Highways Small Contractor Outreach page.
