Neuse News Launches Google Ad-Free Membership

Neuse News Launches Google Ad-Free Membership

Neuse News has launched Neuse News Google Ad-Free, a new membership for readers who want a cleaner reading experience while directly supporting local news coverage in Lenoir, Greene and Jones counties.

Membership is $4.99 per month, or $44.99 per year for a 25 percent savings. Readers can join at NeuseNews.com/ad-free.

When members are signed into their Neuse News customer account, Google display, anchor, vignette and in-content advertising is removed. Pages load faster, especially on a phone, where most Neuse News reading happens. Stories are not moved behind a paywall, and members read the same stories at the same links shared through Facebook, email, search and text.

Local Neuse News advertising continues to appear for everyone. Without local advertisers, Neuse News could not be offered free. Please keep supporting the businesses and organizations that support this publication.

Why Neuse News created the membership

Advertising is what makes free local news possible, and NeuseNews.com will remain free for every reader. But readers have told us they want a less interrupted experience, particularly on mobile.

Google Ad-Free gives those readers a choice, and gives them a direct way to fund the reporting. Membership dollars go straight into covering local government meetings, school board meetings, restaurant inspections, land records and the community news no one else is covering.

How it works

Join at NeuseNews.com/ad-free and choose the monthly or annual plan. Members can cancel at any time and revert to seeing Google ads.
