High-visibility patrols lead to arrest and juvenile charges
HIGH-VISIBILITY PATROLS LEAD TO ARREST AND JUVENILE CHARGES
In response to concerns from the community and the Kinston Housing Authority, KPD officers conducted high-visibility patrols in and around public housing communities last night. Those patrols led to the following:
6:36 p.m. | Traffic Stop
Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle occupied by two juveniles, ages 16 and 17. As a result of the investigation, both juveniles were charged.
16-year-old juvenile:
Carrying a Concealed Gun
Possession of a Handgun by a Minor
Possession of Marijuana
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
17-year-old juvenile:
Carrying a Concealed Gun
Possession of a Handgun by a Minor
8:31 p.m. | Simon Bright Apartments
Officers conducted a knock and talk at an apartment in Simon Bright Apartments. The investigation led officers to obtain and execute a search warrant for the residence.
During the search, officers located ecstasy, methamphetamine, hydrocodone, oxycodone, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
Demon Sessions was arrested and charged with:
- Felony Possession of Methamphetamine
- Felony Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance
- Felony Maintaining a Vehicle/Dwelling/Place for Controlled Substances
- Felony Exposing a Child to Controlled Substances
- Two Counts of Simple Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance
- Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana, Up to 1/2 Ounce
- Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
KPD will continue working with the Kinston Housing Authority and residents to address community concerns through proactive patrols and enforcement efforts.
