Update on video of juvenile being assaulted

During the investigation into the initial assault involving a juvenile victim, investigators discovered three additional disturbing videos depicting separate incidents that occurred on different dates and times—one in March and two in May.

Further investigation led to the identification of the victims and suspects involved in these incidents. As a result, five additional juveniles have been charged with offenses including Assault Inflicting Serious Injury, Simple Assault, and Conspiracy. All juveniles will be processed through the juvenile justice system.

The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office has also requested the assistance of the North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement (ALE) Division to investigate the underage consumption of alcohol and determine how the juveniles obtained the alcohol.

Detectives have worked diligently throughout this investigation, and additional juvenile charges are expected as more individuals involved are identified.
