Jones County Health Department Seeking Medical Director
The Jones County Health Department is seeking a licensed physician (MD or DO) to serve as Medical Director. This is a part-time, contracted position providing professional oversight, administrative guidance, and medical expertise in support of public health services for Jones County residents.
Position Details
Approximately 10 hours per month, including 5 hours onsite
Monthly stipend of $550
Independent contractor position
Responsibilities Include
Providing administrative and medical oversight of clinical services
Reviewing and approving policies, procedures, and standing orders
Supporting physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants
Assisting with credentialing, quality improvement, and compliance activities
Meeting periodically with staff and providing reports to Health Department leadership
Ensuring adherence to professional standards of care and licensing requirements
Qualifications
Licensed physician (MD or DO) in the State of North Carolina in good standing
Experience in primary care, family medicine, or public health preferred
Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills
