KPD CONNECT launches community safety forum series in Kinston
The Kinston Police Department is launching KPD CONNECT, which stands for Continued Outreach Network for Engagement, Community and Trust, as a new community safety forum series aimed at bringing conversations about public safety directly to residents.
Beginning in May 2026 and continuing throughout the year, the town hall-style forums will give residents an opportunity to meet with officers, ask questions, share concerns and learn more about public safety issues affecting Kinston.
Planned topics include understanding crime in Kinston, designing safer neighborhoods, protecting seniors from fraud, financial crimes and elder abuse, building stronger partnerships and response to resistance.
According to the department, the goal is to bring the conversation into the community, listen to residents and work together to make Kinston safer for everyone.
The first CONNECT forum is scheduled for May 2026 after office hours. Additional details on dates and locations will be announced later.
Residents are also encouraged to share ideas for additional topics they would like the department to cover.
