NWS: Confidence increases for weekend winter storm

Confidence continues to increase for a winter storm to unfold across Eastern NC this weekend. However, whether that will be in the form of snow, ice, freezing rain or all three is still our main forecast challenge this week.

Regardless of the exact winter precip type, significant impacts will be possible this weekend, and we hope to provide more specific information on timing and amounts later this week.
