1. Introduction

Lenoir County Public Schools is soliciting qualifications from qualified vendors to provide furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) for the new E. B. Frink Middle School currently under construction at 405 N. Charles Street, LaGrange, NC 28551. The district seeks firms with proven experience in furnishing educational facilities with durable, ergonomic, and flexible furniture solutions appropriate for middle school students and staff.

2. Project Overview

  • Facility: E. B. Frink Middle School

  • Location: 405 N. Charles St. LaGrange, NC 28551

  • Size: Approx. 96,000 Sq Ft

  • Estimated Occupancy: January 2027

  • Scope: Provide and install classroom, administrative, media center, commons, and specialty space furniture.

3. Scope of Services

Vendors shall be responsible for:

  • Consultation and design support to ensure furniture selections meet instructional and functional needs.

  • Providing samples for evaluation.

  • Supplying, delivering, and installing furniture in all designated areas.

  • Offering training on use, care, and maintenance.

  • Providing warranty information and after-sales support.

4. Qualification Requirements

Responding firms must demonstrate:

  • Experience with at least 10 years of K–12 school furniture projects of similar size within the last 5 years.

  • Capacity to provide comprehensive FF&E services including design support, procurement, delivery, and installation.

  • Knowledge of current best practices in educational furniture design (ergonomics, collaborative learning spaces, technology integration).

  • Financial stability and ability to meet project timelines.

  • References from comparable school district clients.

5. Submission Requirements

Interested firms must submit the following:

  1. Cover Letter – Brief introduction and interest in the project.

  2. Company Profile – History, organizational structure, staff qualifications.

  3. Relevant Experience – List of comparable projects with descriptions, budgets, and references.

  4. Project Approach – Narrative of how your firm will meet the district’s needs.

  5. Product Lines & Manufacturers Represented.

  6. Sample Project Timeline.

  7. Proof of Insurance & Certifications.

6. Evaluation Criteria

Submissions will be evaluated based on:

  • Relevant experience and past performance (30%)

  • Qualifications of personnel and resources (20%)

  • Demonstrated understanding of project needs (20%)

  • References and client satisfaction (15%)

  • Overall quality and completeness of submission (15%)


7. Schedule

  • RFQ Issued: August 29, 2025

  • Questions Due: September 8, 2025

  • Submissions Due: September 18, 2025

  • Shortlist / Interviews TBD

  • Selection Notification: December 2025
