Walstonburg secures nearly $1 Million for drinking water upgrades

Greene County – Town of Walstonburg

  • Funding Program: Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF)

  • Project: Water System Improvements Phase 2

  • Awarded: $909,976

On July 16, 2025, the State Water Infrastructure Authority approved a grant of $909,976 to the Town of Walstonburg in Greene County through the DWSRF program. The funds will support the second phase of critical upgrades to the town’s drinking water system. The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Water Infrastructure will follow up with a Letter of Intent to Fund to initiate the project.
