Woman arrested for providing marijuana to children

On April 23, 2025, the Kinston Police Department’s Violent Crimes Apprehension Team (VCAT), in collaboration with officers from KPD’s B-Squad, arrested Stephanie Stallings (46) following an investigation into allegations that she provided marijuana to two young children, ages 5 and 6.

VCAT detectives responded to a residence in the Mitchell Wooten Apartments after receiving a report from the children's mother. Officers conducted a thorough investigation at the scene, which led to the arrest of Stallings.

Stallings has been charged with two counts of Sell/Deliver a Controlled Substance to a Person Less Than 13 Years Old. She was taken into custody and booked at the Lenoir County Jail under a secured bond.

The Kinston Police Department continues to work tirelessly to combat illegal drug activity and ensure a safe environment for all residents. Through strong partnerships with the community and a dedicated law enforcement team, we will continue to hold offenders accountable and safeguard the future of our city.
