133 Charges Filed During First Week of Lenoir County’s Booze It & Lose It Campaign
Sheriff Jackie Rogers and the Lenoir County GHSP Crash Reduction Team closed out the first week of the North Carolina Governor’s Highway Safety annual “Booze It & Lose” Campaign with a multi-agency operation resulting in multiple charges.
Throughout the evening of Saturday, December 20th into the morning hours of Sunday, Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by partnering Eastern North Carolina agencies and the NC Forensic Testing for Alcohol BAT Mobile in a proactive effort to ensure safety on Lenoir County roadways. Sheriff Jackie Rogers led 25 Deputies and Officers from LCSO SCARR/CRT, LCSO Patrol Division D-Shift, Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Craven County Sheriff’s Office, Onslow County Sheriff’s Office, Duplin County Sheriff’s Office, Jones County Sheriff’s Office, Kinston Police Department, and Pink Hill Police Department that participated in the operation.
In total, 133 charges were issued to include: 6 DWI, 2 DWI Under 21, 33 Speeding, 1 Reckless Driving, 4 Seat Belt Violations, 2 Felony Drug Charges, 9 Misdemeanor Criminal Violation, and 76 Other Traffic Related Charges. An additional 22 Warnings were issued.
This was operation was only achieved through cooperation with the Lenoir County Communications Center, the Lenoir County Magistrate’s Office, the Lenoir County Detention Center, and the North Carolina Forensic Testing for Alcohol Branch.
