Arrest Made Following Citizen Drug Complaints in LaGrange

On December 10th, 2025, Detectives with the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit, along with Patrol Deputies from D-Shift, served Joseph Byrd, 23, of LaGrange, with multiple narcotic-related arrest warrants.

This arrest follows an investigation prompted by several citizen complaints regarding the street-level distribution of narcotics throughout the Town of LaGrange. The information provided by the community played a key role in advancing this case.

Byrd was charged with the following offenses:

  • Possession with Intent to Sell/Deliver Marijuana

  • Possession with Intent to Sell/Deliver Schedule IV Controlled Substance

  • Felony Possession of Marijuana

  • Maintain a Dwelling for Controlled Substances

Byrd received a $7,500 secured bond.

The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to addressing illegal drug activity and appreciates the continued assistance from residents who report suspicious or criminal behavior in their communities.
