On November 20, 2025, at approximately 8:41 p.m., Kinston Police Department B-Squad officers responded to multiple reports of shots fired in the area of Old Snow Hill Road. Officers also received information that the suspect was at a residence in the 2200 block of Old Snow Hill Road.
Upon arrival, officers observed 18-year-old Jayden McKiver pass a rifle to another individual and noted apparent narcotics violations. Officers approached McKiver and observed spent shell casings in the front yard.
Further investigation led detectives to obtain a search warrant for the residence. The subsequent search resulted in the seizure of an AR-15 rifle, approximately 9 grams of cocaine, 11 dosage units of Suboxone, and various items of drug paraphernalia. Officers also located evidence indicating that McKiver’s mother, 51 year-old Tina Edwards-Stephen, had been providing alcohol to minors.
