Record number of Bright Ideas grants awarded to LCPS teachers

Lenoir County Public Schools set a new benchmark this year in the Bright Ideas education grant program, earning a record number of awards for innovative classroom projects.

Across the state and region, LCPS educators secured 13 state-level Bright Ideas grants and 65 grants from Tri-County EMC, totaling nearly $60,000 in funding. Roughly half of all Tri-County EMC grants awarded this year went to LCPS teachers, although only nine LCPS schools are eligible to apply. District officials said the results highlight the creativity and commitment of local educators who continue to develop fresh approaches to teaching and learning.

A spreadsheet listing all 2024–2025 Bright Ideas Grant recipients, including school affiliations and project titles, is attached for reference. LCPS leaders said they look forward to recognizing each educator for their work and the classroom innovations these grants will support.
