KPD: Man charged with Indecent Liberties with a Child and Sexual Battery

On January 31, 2024, Officers from the Kinston Police Department responded to The Red Carpet Inn (208 E New Bern Road, Kinston) in reference to a welfare check.  Officers were advised that children living at the address were being neglected and possibly sexually abused.

Kinston Police Department’s Investigators conducted an investigation and on March 8, 2024, they obtained warrants on 60-year-old Timothy Spencer of Greenville, South Carolina for Indecent Liberties with a Child and Sexual Battery.

On March 20, 2024, The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office (South Carolina) arrested Timothy Spencer for the warrants.  Timothy Spencer was extradited back to Kinston and was placed in the Lenoir County Jail under a secured bond.  

The Kinston Police Department makes it a priority to investigate all crimes perpetrated in our city.
