Stroud, a native of Snow Hill, N.C., has built a career at the N.C. Department of Transportation (NCDOT), rising through the ranks from transportation engineering associate to Division 2 Engineer. His extensive experience positions him to guide NCGTP into a new chapter of growth and development.
“I was recently asked if I would be interested in another role with the state of North Carolina as the executive director of the N.C. Global TransPark,” Stroud said. “After careful consideration, I decided that as executive director, I could continue to lead the N.C. Global TransPark in the direction that past executive directors envisioned for the future.”
Stroud reflected on the evolving role of the NCGTP, a multi-modal industrial hub with a growing military presence. Current projects include a $350 million C-130 Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul facility for the military’s Fleet Readiness Center East.
“The N.C. Global TransPark was created as a facility to transfer cargo between air carriers, rail carriers, and freight companies,” Stroud explained. “Today’s N.C. Global TransPark is a multi-modal industrial site with a growing military presence. As incoming executive director, I intend to continue building lasting relationships with existing tenants and establishing new ones to support our military partnerships.”
Local leaders are confident in Stroud’s ability to lead the NCGTP. Trey Cash, Vice President, Economic Development Director for Lenoir and Greene Counties, commended Stroud’s impact on eastern North Carolina.
“Jeremy Stroud has built a solid career focused on making a positive impact in eastern North Carolina, fostering strong relationships and delivering results that help grow our area,” Cash said. “I’m confident that in his new role at the North Carolina Global TransPark, he’ll continue to support the growth and success of the area with the same dedication and thoughtful approach.”
Stroud’s deep connection to his hometown of Snow Hill and his vision for the NCGTP’s future reflect a commitment to leveraging the organization’s resources for regional development.
“The N.C. Global TransPark is located directly across from our NCDOT Division 2 Office, so I knew a little bit about the organization, its staff, and the large projects it had underway,” Stroud said. “I hope to bring the N.C. Global TransPark closer to having the regional impact that I heard it was going to have as a kid growing up in Snow Hill.”
As Stroud prepares for his new role, the NCGTP looks ahead to continued progress, driven by the strategic leadership of a dedicated and experienced executive.
