This year will be a little different as Rotaract has worked with community partners to build a permanent drive-in movie screen. This addition to the community will provide a unique and nostalgic movie-watching experience for families and serve as a platform for the organization's annual fundraiser, supporting local non-profit organizations.

"We are beyond excited to unveil our permanent drive-in movie screen," said Caitlin Wilson, secretary of Lenoir County Rotaract. "This project has been a labor of love for our club, and we are incredibly grateful for the support of the community and our partners who helped make it possible."

The permanent drive-in screen opens up a world of possibilities for Lenoir County Rotaract. It allows the club to host more frequent fundraising events, expanding their reach and impact on the community. Additionally, the screen can be used for other events, such as family movie nights, community gatherings, and even corporate events.

"This permanent structure is a game-changer for our organization," Wilson said. "It gives us the flexibility to host a variety of events throughout the year, which will allow us to raise more funds for local non-profits and provide even more opportunities for community engagement."

The construction of the permanent drive-in screen was a collaborative effort. The Rotaract Club partnered with Hope Restorations, a local non-profit that provides housing and support services for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. The Hope Restorations men's team played a vital role in the construction process, providing invaluable labor and expertise.

"We are incredibly grateful for the partnership with Hope Restorations," Wilson said. "Their support was instrumental in making this project a reality. We are excited to continue our collaboration with them and to use this screen to further their mission of helping those in need."

The completion of the permanent drive-in screen is a significant milestone for Lenoir County Rotaract. It marks the organization's commitment to serving the community and providing opportunities for fun and togetherness.

"We are thrilled to kick off our first event on the new screen with this holiday favorite," Wilson said. "We hope that families from all over the community will come out and enjoy this unique experience. The proceeds from the event will be donated to Hope Restorations, and we are excited to help them continue their important work."

Community members can get involved with the upcoming drive-in movie fundraiser by:

  • Purchasing tickets to the event

  • Volunteering their time to help with set-up, parking, or concessions

  • Spreading awareness of the event through social media or word-of-mouth
