Help wanted: Lenoir Community College - Health Sciences Admissions Specialist

$33,000-38,000 Annually

The Health Sciences Admissions Specialist will support the efforts of health sciences admissions to collect and process health sciences student applications. The Health Sciences Admissions Specialist will also provide support for all aspects of the admissions process from application through enrollment.

The duties of the Health Sciences Admissions Specialist include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as point of contact for all health sciences admissions applicants

  • Process health sciences admissions applications

  • Respond to phone requests for student information

  • Download applications from CFNC and make necessary adjustments to applications prior to completing the import process

  • Download RDS (residency) information for all applications received

  • Track pending residency determinations until they are validated

  • Contact students that have errors on their residency determination

  • Process all change of majors and addition of secondary majors

  • Assign advisors and keep advisor list up-to-date each semester

  • Track all student records needed in the application process

  • Disseminate information by using the telephone, mail services, and e-mail

  • Organize and maintain the student file system to include receiving applications, entering data into the Datatel system, creating student files, receiving transcripts, and scanning all documentation

  • Greet students and visitors

  • Create spreadsheets, compose correspondence, and manage databases

  • Coordinate with other departments within the College

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree from a regionally accredited institution is required; bachelor's degree preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and the use of a variety of office equipment to include fax machine, photocopier, and videoconferencing and telephone systems

  • Excellent typing, public relations, communication and problem-solving skills

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

  • Working knowledge of the Datatel Colleague system preferred

 

Working Conditions

  • Typical office environment

  • Frequently sitting at a desk or workstation using a telephone, computer, keyboard, and mouse; some standing and walking
