NC Extension Master Gardener Volunteers of Lenoir County announce the certification of ten Junior Master Gardeners (JMG).

The JMGs completed classroom and individual activities, participated in leader/community service projects while learning all about plants, gardening techniques, landscape design, composting, soil and water, recycling, insects and career exploration and life skills. The class also participated in field trips to the Lenoir County Landfill, to NCSU to tour the soil pits, composting operation and the Agroecology Education Farm.

The JMG course is patterned after the very successful Master Gardener course and is a 4-H gardening project.
