Rochelle Middle School principal steps up to the plate

On Monday, what was supposed to be a normal school day turned into an interesting one at Rochelle Middle School. When students showed up to the cafeteria for their normal lunch period, they were excited to see their Principal Terry Wooten serving them lunch. Principal Wooten stepped up to the plate when she found out that the cafeteria was short-staffed on Monday.

Sikitheia Tindley, an Exceptional Children’s Teacher Assistant says, “I have served under Ms. Wooten when she was the Assistant Principal and now have the pleasure of serving as she leads as the Principal.” Ms. Tindley has been at Rochelle Middle School since 2019.

Tindley has nothing but praise for the principal, “Ms. Wooten is an amazing leader and the epitome of servitude! There won’t ever be a situation where she isn’t asking “How can I help?” And that is what the students and staff of Rochelle Middle School need.”

When the times were tough at Rochelle, a principal found a way to brighten the day and make it work. Principal Wooten smiled and called the students by name while asking them what they would like. She literally served them with love. We thank Sikitheia Tindley for sending us the story.
