Upstairs at the Market has closed

Upstairs at the Market closed on Friday, December 31, 2021. Known for grab-and-go meals, as well as an eclectic variety of items to purchase, Upstairs at the Market had a solid niche in Kinston.

“Over the past several years, our family has enjoyed being a part of your lives,” said Barbara Elden, owner, in a letter to her customers. “You have entrusted us to make your dinners each week, you gave us the opportunity to celebrate milestones with you, and you shopped our retail store for the perfect gifts for friends and family.”

The closing was emotional for Elden and her customers.

“Deciding to close our business was not an easy one, but at this time, it is the right decision for our family,” said Elden. “We will be staying in Kinston and are looking forward to joining you in continuing to support other small businesses in our amazing city.”
